ABOUT THE CENTER

The Center for Philosophical Anthropology Topos was established in 1996. The priority field of its research work can be described by three words: Intersubjectivity. Communication. Dialogue.

The focus is placed on the experience of the Other and the phenomenon of co-existence, or being-one-with-the-other, which is being analyzed through a wide spectrum of thematic aspects, ranging from ontological and anthropological “conditions of possibility” to social and ethical implications.

The main activities of the Center are:

• Publication of the philosophy and cultural studies journal 'Topos';
• Running of research seminars and conferences;
• Publication of the book series 'Conditio humana'.

We are happy to present 19th issue of 'Topos'. This one is published in English only, and consists of materials, presented for the first tipe in the conference 'Hanna Arend's Heritage in the Beginning of XXI Century", which took place in May 2007 in Vilnius.
